Sümela Monastery is a historic structure located in the Maçka district of Trabzon, offering one of the most breathtaking natural views of the Black Sea region. Believed to have been founded in the 4th century by Byzantine Emperor I. Theodosius, this monastery is built high in the mountains on steep slopes, showcasing an impressive architecture. Sümela takes its name from the Sümela Mountain where it is situated, and this area offers an atmosphere that captivates visitors with both its religious and historical significance. The monastery, with its frescoes on stone walls, religious icons, and historic structure, is one of the most important cultural heritages from the Byzantine era.

We depart from our agency at 10:00 in the morning. Our first stop is our facility in Maçka center where we can do some activities and have a tea break. We stop here for 20 minutes. Then, we take a photo break at the Susmalı Bridge on the Sümela road route. We start our tour of the Sümela Monastery, which is 15 km from Maçka center and located in the Altındere National Park area, 300 meters above the valley. After the tour, which lasts about 1.5 hours, we have free time and a lunch break at the facilities on Çoşandere, which are below the monastery. Those who wish can have breakfast here. We leave at 14:00 and return to Trabzon.

Our tours are organized with tour vehicles for 15, 29 or 46 people, depending on the number of participants. Our daily tours have a definite departure; however, there is no guarantee of a seat on the vehicle layout plan, right, left, aisle or window seat. The brand and model of the vehicles are not specified and the agency can also change the vehicle if necessary. Our personnel on duty in the tour has the right to change the flow of the program according to the weather and road conditions.

Please indicate if you have a child, stroller or luggage when making your reservation. A maximum of 1 stroller is accepted in our tour vehicles. Guests with luggage will not be accepted on the tour otherwise and must purchase two extra seats.
