Alaturka hamams are typically divided into two sections: one for men and one for women. Upon entering the hamam, you will first encounter the changing rooms. Here, you remove your clothes and optionally wear a towel or a special wrap called a peştemal.
Next, you proceed to the warm room, which serves as the main entrance to the hamam. In this section, you can relax your body for a certain period if desired. Afterward, you move to the hot rooms where the process called kese takes place. This exfoliation treatment removes dead skin cells from your body, leaving you with a feeling of relaxation. Finally, a hamam attendant gives you a foam massage, ensuring your body is completely relaxed, allowing you to leave feeling rejuvenated and happy.
